Holiday Traditions
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Technically this is Cole's second, but his first at home. He enjoyed trying everything, turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans and even pumpkin pie with whipped cream! The Friday after Turkey Day the whole family went to Fillmore to find the biggest tree we could handle. Once we found it we tried to take a family picture but Cole was interested in the prickly needs.

Happy Birthday
Well our little boy turned 1 on 11/16/06. The following Saturday we had a small family party. And from these pictures I will say that he is his mother's son, he loved his birthday cake...at least the frosting.

Cole did open a few gifts, but he found the wrapping paper more fun.

Happy Halloween
This year was Cole's first Halloween. We had a lot of fun. We went to the pumpkin patch to pick out some gourds for carving.

Cole was a monkey this year. He wasn't too keen on the costume but he did let Mommy take some pictures of him in it.

Our neighborhood poses a bit of a challenge for young trick or treaters, so instead we throw a blockparty. And yes the whole family dressed up.

Highchair antics
Cole has graduated to baby food every other feeding. He really likes his new high chair.

Sometimes Cole decides he'd rather use the spoon himself, with messy results.

June pics - @ 7 months old
Yes, I know I've been bad about updating the pics. We're just having too much fun with Cole. He has recently discovered his hands. They spend quite a bit of time in his mouth. But he took some time away from his mouth to squeeze my nose.

Here's his McCaully Caulkin "Home Alone" impression.

Fresh out of the bath. Looking very relaxed in his frog towel.

Family camping trip
Here are some pics from our camping trip to El Capitan state beach. This was the first family trip in our motorhome. You can see Cole is my co-pilot.

Here's Cole at the beach in his homemade shelter. He liked that more than the umbrella.

Back from the beach. He's getting pretty big.

10 lbs
We just got back from the doctor's office and Cole is 10lbs 1oz, and 23 inches long. He is still below average for his actual age, but his corrected age (from original due date) he is within normal limits.
Happy FIRST Mother's day
The Walk
The March of Dimes was originally founded to cure polio. When a cure was found, the charity shifted focus to research for premature births. Much of the research they have funded over the years has produced many medical advances for preemies. In fact, Cole may owe his life to some of these. Naturally we felt a strong affection for this organization. On April 29th we did the March Of Dimes 10K walk, along with 15,000 other people. All three of us walked, although Cole slept through most of it. Many of the stories we heard there were touching. Some were tragic. Although it was very emotional, it felt good to participate.

First Weekend Trip
This past weekend we took Cole to Mammoth Mountain for his first weekend getaway. He is a little young to hit the slopes, but he did enjoy it.

Because space can be a little tight we decided to make his bed in a dresser drawer while he is still small enough to fit. Next time we'll have to take the Pack-and-Play crib.

Cole is currently 8lbs, 8oz.
